What is it?
Vented cylinders are probably still the most common form of tank installed in UK houses today. Water is fed into the bottom of the tank, and drawn off at the top. The cylinders are fed by a large tank of water usually located in the attic space. Vented cylinders are not pressurised and are open to the atmosphere. The hot water pressure at the taps is dependent on the vertical distance between the tank and the tap. If your cold water pressure is good, but your hot water poor, consider the installation of a thermal store cylinder which will also be included in our product portfolio soon.

Manufacturing lead time on single items are 2-7 days depending on how buys we are and then items can be despatched within the UK for next day delivery via courier direct to you . All cylinders ready for despatch are packed into cardboard boxes with a 25mm polystyrene pad at the bottom of the box and cardboard/paper packing to the sides.

Why Copper?
Copper prices have risen significantly over the last 18months and has resulted in some steel cylinders being available at lower prices. Copper is still out material of choice and has significant advantages over other materials, including:

Copper is recommended to combat Legionella.

Copper will also eradicate MRSA, E-coli and Avian Bird Flu in less than 5 Hours. In tests it took 34 days for E-coli 0157 to die on Stainless Steel, 4 days on brass and just 4 hours on copper.

Copper is one of the most efficient conductors of heat. It has a thermal conductivity of 401W/mK. Compare this to Stainless Steel which is rated at 14W/mK and you can see why copper is the material of choice.

Copper is 100% recyclable and over 90% of all copper scrap is re-used.

Customisation
The EcoEnergyDepot can provide customised tanks to suite your requirements. Typical requests are different connector sizes for the solar circuit or the boiler coil, or for the connectors to be located in a different position. Some solar installations also utilise a third sensor in the centre of the tank and this can also be fitted at reasonable cost. Extra thick insulation may also be provided at a reasonable cost.
