Solar Twin Coil Thermal Store
Free yourself from that power shower with mains pressure hot water at a fraction of the price of an unvented cylinder.
This price includes VAT and delivery.
Why do I need a thermal store? A thermal store is probably the cheapest method of upgrading your hot water supply to mains pressure. This will give you drinkable hot water at the same pressure as your cold and enable you to have a decent shower without the need of a power shower or pump. If you have poor mains cold water pressure then a thermal store is not suitable.
What is it?
A thermal store is an advanced hot water cylinder. They work on a different principle to classic vented cylinder. Instead of heating a large body of water which is then used throughout the day the water in a thermal store remains static. Mains pressure water is fed through a long coil inside the tank and then heats up. The water in the tank never has any physical contact with the water coming out of the taps. Thermal stores have been used for years on wood burning systems but are now an increasingly popular option for conventional boilers. I have installed one of these tanks in my own property and it works without a hitch.
Do I require different connections? Yes and no. As well as the normal connections to the boiler and the solar panels, you will also require a mains cold water connection. The thermal store is vented and so requires a small header tank exactly like the systems already installed in most older UK homes. For upgrades to existing systems, the header tank in the loft space can be re-used. For new installations a small central heating header tank is sufficient.

Limited Guarantee Our cylinders are made to order and are tested prior to delivery. Please ensure that your tank will fit your existing plant room and that your cold water pressure is reasonable as tanks will only be replaced if defective.
Customisation The EcoEnergyDepot can provide customised tanks to suite your requirements. Typical requests are different connector sizes for the solar circuit or the boiler coil, or for the connectors to be located in a different position. Some solar installations also utilise a third sensor in the centre of the tank and this can also be fitted at reasonable cost. Extra thick insulation may also be provided at a reasonable cost. If the standard tank does not fit your requirements, then send an email to us at

and we will come back to you with a quote.
