Why use DT Collectors?
Unlike normal solar panels our unique DT collectors have a stainless steel manifold that does not react with your swimming pool or spa water. This means that you can don't require a heat exchanger you just pump the swimming pool water directly through the collector.

Easy to Install and Maintain
Consol solar collectors have been designed so they are easy to fit and install. Your local plumber or a competent DIY'er should be able to fit the collectors without any problems. The collectors work in parallel with your existing heating system, should the panels not produce enough heat, then your existing boiler will take up the slack. The EcoEnergyDepot can supply a simple design of a typical system on request.

Mounting & Orientation
DT Collectors can be mounted on a pitched or flat roof and in the garden. Ideally they should have a pitch between 35 to 45 degrees and in a shade free south facing outlook. If no south facing areas are available, east or west facing collectors with a 35 degree pitch can still achieve efficiencies of 80%.

What size collector do I need?
Calculate 25% of the total surface area of the pool in meters. For every square meter allocate 10 tubes. So for example:

A swimming pool that is 12 x 4 meters has a total surface area of 12 x 4 = 48 square meters.
To get 25% of this divide by four 48 / 4 = 12 square meters
And multiply by 10 to get the total number of tubes required 12 x 10 = 120 Tubes

This is the equivalent of four 30 tube collectors.

How much hot water will they generate?
A well dimensioned system should completely heat the pool between May and September, after this the performance drops off but the collectors will produce some warm water even on winter days. Payback is often less than 12 months.

Can I use the collectors on Indoor and Outdoor Swimming Pools?
Yes, the collectors are suitable for indoor and outdoor pool and they can also be used with spa systems.

What control do I need?
The EcoEnergyDepot can supply controllers if required but a simple temperature differential controller such as the Resol BS3 is more than adequate.
